Feb 28, 2011 -- "Maple Sirop" and a 40 year old project -- "Maple Sirop" y un proyecto que tiene 40 años

This week was pretty good. On Wednesday we were suposed to get a lot of snow, but it never showed up. So there was much rejoicing. And today was supposed to be 7 degrees, and rainy, so everyone was excited for the "warm" weather. Haha, but nope, its snowing alot right now. Its starting to get warm though. everyone is excited for the Spring to arrive. One of the signs of Spring is that all of the maple "farms".. i guess their called, open and we can go and get freshly made Maple Sirop. All over Quebec, there are these places called La Cabanes à Sucre. They have this Buffet that they make Omelets, potatoes, bacon, frites, Ham, and other things, and then its all covered in freshly made maple sirop. MMM! Sugar! Thats what Sucre means, sugar. The Missionaries are all going next week for P-day. Its a tradition here, that people really like because for them its a sure sign that winter is over. Because the Cabanes à Sucre only opens at the very end of winter, and is only open for about a month.

Do you remember the investigators that i told you about? At least i think i told you about them... But they've been investigating the Church for 41 years. At one point in those 40 years, they went to Church Every Sunday for about 10 years. The Husband has had callings as the Organist, they even went to the temple, before it was dedicated. This week we went to visit them with one of the youth in our ward who is preparing to go on a mission. They have known this kid since he was born, but they havent seen him for a few years. They were so happy to see him. It was a great lesson too. The purpose of visiting this family wasnt to teach them anything though. In the span of 40 years, they've heard everything...multiple times. In fact they have known the gospel, longer than i've been alive. They were Teachin US the about the gospel. Seriously... i learn so much everytime we visit them. So the purpose of our visit was to find out what the problem was, Why they had never been baptised.

We realized that, although they had a strong testimony of the gospel, and an amazing testimony of the Book of Mormon, they did not have a testimony of Joseph Smith. It literally wasn't until this moment that i realized how important it is to have a solid testimony of Every aspect of the restored gospel, not just certain things. Like i said, i learn somethng every time we visit her. At this point, we are going to start to work from there, and help her get a testimony of Josph Smith. But I need advice. Is there anything in particular that i can do to help her with that? We cant teach her as we would any other investigator. And we've invited her to pray about it. But answers to prayers come in many different ways, and if there is something we can do to help her get that answer, we would like to do it.

Thanks for the prayers! I really appreciate it. Pray for my companion too. He's like a brother to me now. And he always includes you guys in his prayers.

Have a good week! I love you very much!
